Solace and Sage is a non-profit 501c3.

Donations are tax deductible.

Your donations are a personal investment in the well-being and quality of life of older adults in our community.

Through your caring support, our community will be able to provide the fundamental building blocks for adults 60 and above to remain in the homes following a medical event or when living with a chronic and/or progressive illness.

John Allen McCarty Veterans Scholarship Fund

This fund was established in honor of a real hometown hero who survived the Bataan Death March and 32 months of tortuous captivity. Although he suffered intolerable conditions, he

"...put forth every effort by day and night to improve the morale and well-being of his fellow prisoners of war."

He understood the importance of home and community and the strength and blessings that come from helping others.

It is our wish to carry out his legacy and bless Veterans in need.

~The McCarty Family

We support Veterans 60 years and above in the Central Texas area that have been impacted by an acute medical event or are living with a chronic and/or progressive illness who want to return and/or remain home with peace of mind and dignity.

Your donations provide them the necessary equipment, home modifications, and guidance to honor what matters most to them.

This team of angels has made it possible for me to stay at home. They connected me with all kinds of people and help to support me and modify my home. When I was in the hospital, Michelle picked up my medications and got everything ready at home so I could go home and not worry.

Jim

Your concern is a big part of what is so special about your service to families. We are grateful for you both!

Both my parents moved in with me about a year and a half ago.  They both have cancer.  While my dad was going through treatment, he was in a lot of pain.  No one knew what to do for him and he wasn't being as honest with the doctors about his pain levels as he was a very strong and proud man.  I spoke to Melissa about the situation because I felt so very helpless.  She convinced me that my father should not be in pain and gave me the confidence to call his doctors and tell them exactly what was going on when he was not with them.  Although he died not too long after, I will say that his last few weeks here were so much better than they had been for months because of the knowledge that I had from Melissa about how it should be and could be.  I believe this service is so important support and is a gift that she offers because there is no middle person between the doctors and hospice.  I know in my case it made all the difference.  I am so thankful that I had her to help me.
